Tribute to Charlie Dalin

This Thursday, we share with the entire offshore racing community and all sports enthusiasts the profound sorrow that grips us. We extend our deepest condolences to the family, loved ones, and all those who knew Charlie Dalin. An exceptional skipper and lifelong competitor, Charlie was above all passionate about offshore racing and the sea, a role model far beyond the realm of sport.

At every race, we all witnessed the tenacity and determination he always displayed, qualities that so defined him. Once again, our thoughts are with his family and loved ones.

Today, we salute both the man and the champion. The champion with an exceptional record, who has left his mark on sailing history through his talent, his exacting standards, and his determination. But also the passionate, humble, and deeply committed man, whose strength of character and ability to rise above adversity command respect.

Through his career and achievements, Charlie has left his mark on the history of sailing and our races. His legacy will remain in our sport and in the memories of all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
