At the start, they were neither among the favorites nor among the outsiders, but "a bit in between." THEIR RACE DECRYPTED. The flame of “Hope”
Before setting off on a sprint across the Atlantic, it's good to be realistic. This is the case for Victor and Estelle. Before the start, they were neither favorites nor outsiders, but " a bit in between." "We have the assets to put in a strong performance ," Victor Le Pape estimated. Estelle's experience—this is her seventh transatlantic race—and Victor's in-depth knowledge of the boat were all arguments for being there.
For a long time, Victor and Estelle were positioned at the heart of the pack, among the pursuers and a good distance from the leaders. Nestled in the top 10, in short, with the certainty that they could make a move if the opportunity arose. And luckily, that's exactly what happened. Thanks to this large windless zone that slowed the leaders in the final days, the Région Bretagne CMB – Espoir boat got back into the game. Like most of the outsiders, they opted for the southern route, the most direct, but also the most perilous. Thanks to this bold choice, they inserted themselves into the top 10 a handful of days ago. In the final sprint, Victor and Estelle tried to play their cards to the fullest and ultimately finished in 13th place.
