The former has established himself as a benchmark in Ocean Fifty, while the latter became the skipper of one of these multihulls this year. But both are skilled sailors, and they demonstrated this throughout the race. The duo stayed in the game before coming back during the final days and approaching the final stretch in a favorable position before finishing in a more than respectable place.

THEIR RACE DECRYPTED. Like shooting stars

They're used to hurtling across the water at high speeds on machines that are as impressive as they are difficult to handle. Quentin Vlamynck made a name for himself in OceanFifty, these 15.24-meter multihulls. He won the Transat Jacques Vabre, finished 2nd in the Route du Rhum, and then decided to start from scratch, embark on the Figaro and represent an association close to his heart, Les Étoiles Filantes.

For his first Transat Paprec, he decided to set off with Audrey Ogereau, an all-round skipper who helmed the first Women's America's Cup and currently skippers the Ocean Fifty. Throughout the race, Les Étoiles Filantes were always in the running. Fifth at Cape Finisterre, a little further back at La Palma (18th), the duo didn't give up in the trade winds where they joined the pack, which was heading further south than the leaders.

Over a week ago, Quentin and Audrey gradually managed to fall back behind the leading trio and thus approach the famous windless zone from the north. It was therefore with a "top 10" streak and flirting with the "top 5" that the pair set off on the final straight. Upon arrival in Saint-Barthélemy this Friday, Les Étoiles Filantes finally finished 8th, not without effort. A race that represents valuable experience for progressing both in the Figaro (Quentin) and in the OceanFifty (Audrey).

Throughout the race, they strove to share the small and big joys of the boat. The boat accompanied by dolphins, the Easter eggs hidden in the boat, the surfing in the squalls, the flying fish, the breakfasts between two watches... And then they received the support of the children accompanied by Les Étoiles Filantes in a very touching video: the assurance of finding motivation until the end to give it their all.
