A DAY IN THE VILLAGE. With just four days to go before the big start, the sunshine and clear skies allowed the public to enjoy all the activities throughout the day. The skippers spent the morning attending the traditional briefing, particularly dedicated to safety, before getting busy with their final preparations. Gradually, the excitement rose a notch, always in good spirits.

SKIPPERS' CORNER. A briefing in the morning
Reunited once again. Two days after the inauguration, all the skippers met up this Thursday morning. The objective: to participate in the first of two briefings, dedicated to safety, which was held at the Pôle nautique in the early morning. The members of the race management, Francis Le Goff and Yann Château, took the time to discuss all the topics related to the sailing instructions. The start schedule, the course, receiving information, the rules on outside assistance, crisis communication... Information that allows the skippers to be aware of the regulations in order to have the right reflexes throughout the race. " These are important moments ," recalls Charlotte Yven (Skipper Macif). "It allows you to have the rules clearly in mind, how to react in the event of a problem and also know how to keep the race alive, which should not be overlooked! " Note that another briefing will take place with all the sailors next Saturday to discuss the weather conditions for the first days of racing.

THE ANNOUNCEMENT. The Pro-Am scheduled for this Friday has been canceled.
The Transat Paprec skippers were due to set sail this Friday for the Pro-Am regatta, where each duo was to take two guests on board. Due to major disruptions, race management and organizers have decided to cancel it . However, the official presentation of the sailors will take place at 6:30 p.m. as planned: it will be the only opportunity to see all the crews together.

Low risk of showers this Sunday
The weather likes to play with sailors' nerves. It's not time to tear your hair out just yet, especially since the weather was mild this Thursday with beautiful sunny spells for most of the day. However, the weather will be unsettled this Friday, which explains the cancellation of the Pro-Am regatta. On Sunday, however, the wind is forecast to be " light to moderate ," and the risk of showers remains low.

THE ANECDOTE. A tour of France before crossing the Atlantic
This is undoubtedly the most intense preparation for the Transat Paprec. This winter, Maël Garnier ( Selencia – Cerfrance) cycled 3,400 km! Dunkirk, Brest, Mont-de-Marsan, Nice, Paris, Vannes… The sailor completed 23 stages of around 130 km per day. This was an opportunity to tour the agencies of the Selencia network, his sponsor, while sleeping at colleagues' houses. " I was going to talk about my passion, they about their job. It was great to draw a parallel between the entrepreneurial world and my job as a sailor ," explains Maël in an article dedicated to him by Le Télégramme (partner of the Transat Paprec) published this Thursday. This is also enough to hone his physical condition and approach the Transat Paprec with determination. " We have ambition and the means to fight for the podium ," he likes to repeat.
