Southbound!

After Wednesday tacking and working out the best passage to find the windshift all 11 duos are heading south racing 110 miles offshore of Cascais and Lisbon this morning. The leaders are making a steady 7.5kts. Still topping the standings are Camille Bertel and Pierre Leboucher (Cap Ingélec) though the first seven duos are within less than 7 miles while the gap back to the chasers is opening slightly.

Now they are pointed south towards the the Canary Islands and the turning mark at La Palma which they should reach within three days. 

"It's difficult for the moment to say who the winners and losers of the last few hours are," explains Yann Château at Race Direction. “The most recent play was to make the best use of the shift in the front to the West. But at the same time, some, who are out in the West can go bow down and build speed. So perhaps MonAtoutÉnergie.fr (Arthur Hubert, Colombe Julia) can gain now from 8th place, they are 17 miles from the head of the race but they were one of the fastest boats through the night.
