See you in 2025

Meet Chloé Le Bars and Hugo Dhallenne

They met on the Mini-Transat, two years ago, and are now preparing to attempt the transatlantic adventure together. Chloé Le Bars (25 years old) and Hugo Dhallenne (32 years old) wear the colors of Région Bretagne - CMB Océane, have energy to spare, particularly promising results and the desire to show that they can be counted on during the Transat Paprec.

  • Why participate in the Transat Paprec?

Chloé: "I participated in the Mini-Transat in 2021 and it was a great experience. I wanted to do a transatlantic race again and I find it interesting to try the adventure double-handed, especially since it is not always easy single-handed. It's a great race, we have great boats that are certainly physical, but are great and the course is really good. Everything makes you want to do the Transat Paprec!"

Hugo: "This is my first season in the Figaro and I wanted to do as many miles as possible to progress. We competed in the same Mini-Transat with Chloé and it's a great opportunity to test our double-handed skills. Our ambition will be to sail cleanly, to bring the boat back in one piece and if there is an opportunity to do something, we'll take it!"

  • The story of your pairing?

Chloé: "We competed in the Mini together and now we are both in the Figaro. I had put him on the list of those I wanted to do the Paprec Transat with. In training, we have a good feeling, we get along well on board and the progress is linear. It makes you want to see what it will be like during the Transat!"

Hugo: "I really wanted to do this transatlantic race and to do it together. We don't know each other very well, we had crossed paths in the Mini Transat, but we're getting to know each other and we're making progress together."

  • How important is the mix for you?

Chloé: "I think it's a great idea to do a transatlantic race as a mixed duo. It allows us to integrate more girls into the world of ocean racing, which is not necessarily very easy to access for those who want to embark on a Figaro project. So it's a very good idea that reinforces the fairness of the race."

Hugo: "I think it's a great initiative for women who sail. Today, everything is becoming very mixed and I think it's a normal and beneficial evolution."

  • How did you plan your daily life on board?

Chloé: "We didn't think too much about spending more than a fortnight together on board. Each time we sailed together, it went well. Of course, each one has his own character and way of working. But I have no doubt that it will go well. I'm not at all apprehensive."

Hugo: "Overall, we're going to cross paths quite a bit. Chloe is in charge of the weather, so she might spend a little more time inside. Otherwise, we'll rotate every three hours. As long as everyone tidies up his room, there will be no problem! (laughs)"
