The Brittany Region

If, over the years, Brittany has risen to the top ranks of the most sporting regions in France, it is notably thanks to its major nautical events and their participants.

Because these nautical events constitute, beyond their sporting character, real tools for festive and popular entertainment and because they contribute to the economic development of the territories but also to the influence and attractiveness of Brittany, the Region has, for many years, chosen to support the major offshore racing events, including the Transat Paprec.

At the same time, with the "Brittany Region-CMB offshore racing excellence sector" created in 2011, the Region is actively involved in the detection and training of new generations of sailors and thus revealing great athletes. Since 2019, the Brittany Region has been taking concrete action for diversity and gender equality in ocean racing thanks to "Océane", the first system in the discipline to offer support exclusively dedicated to women to reach the top of their sport and inspire a generation of young people.
