Weather conditions for the start of the Transat Paprec at 1:02 p.m. in Concarneau Bay :

Wind conditions are expected to be quite good for the skippers' departure at midday this Sunday.

The reliability of the forecast is still quite limited (60-70%) regarding the precise direction and intensity of the wind, but the majority option to date is that of a moderate north to northwest wind for the start (10 to 15 knots, gusts to 25 knots). The clearings will remain timid with abundant cloudy passages which may be accompanied by showers with fairly moderate gusts.

Weather forecast for the start of the Transat Paprec

Wind conditions are expected to be moderate or even sensitive for the first hours of racing in the northern part of the Bay of Biscay. The northwest wind will gradually strengthen as a low pressure trough passes inland in Biscay and will blow between 18 and 25 knots, which will allow sailing across the water, allowing the skippers to progress on the direct route, towards La Coruña. The sea will be quite rough with a westerly swell of around 1.2 m. Between Sunday evening and Monday, the existing low pressure system will quickly fill as it returns to the French mainland to the east. The sailors will therefore have to cross the Bay of Biscay still across the water under an established and rather moderate westerly flow of 15 to 20 knots. The flow will be oriented to the west-northwest sector and will allow navigation always across (the wind will come to the right of the sailboats) with a wind whose intensity remains to be specified but which should be around 15 to 20 knots.
